A Personal Message
From the Founder
12 years ago, I founded Student Opportunity Center, which we built to over 500 universities and local governments nationwide. During that time, I saw firsthand the challenges and misalignments in public procurement.
In 2024, myself and a few friends and colleagues decided to start CivicSpend to tackle this problem head-on. We believe that by leveraging emerging AI/ML technology and the most comprehensive procurement datasets available, we can create a significantly more efficient, transparent, and outcome-driven procurement marketplace. We believe that in the next 5-10 years, the forces of public data proliferation, AI data ingestion/aggregation, and increased public demand for transparency will push public procurement to undergo historic change.
Our mission is simple: make government procurement work better for everyone involved. For governments, that means finding the right suppliers efficiently and holding them accountable. For suppliers, that means breaking down barriers to entry, discovering the right opportunities and aligining services to win more business.
